Philip Karl Widmaier

Philip Widmaier earned his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from KIT Karlsruhe in 2019. For his postgraduate education, he joined the EIT InnoEnergy double master's degree in energy technologiess. He holds a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from KIT Karlsruhe and a M.Sc. in Energy Engineering and Management from IST Lisbon.

During his master's degree, Philip focused on modeling and simulations of energy processes and on thermo-fluid dynamics.
For his master's thesis, he developed a computationally efficient surrogate model for stationary gas turbines in cooperation with Siemens Energy.

In 2022, Philip joined the Energy and Process Systems Engineering Group of Professor André Bardow at ETH Zurich as doctoral student. In his research, he works on process and component models for high-temperature industrial heat pumps.
