Marvin Volkmer

Marvin Volkmer studied mechanical engineering with a focus on energy engineering at RWTH Aachen, Germany, and UC Davis, USA. He graduated with a Master's degree from RWTH Aachen in 2024. In his Master's thesis, which he conducted at EPSE as a project mobility student, he investigated the influence of demand-side flexibility and technology availability policies on the Swiss energy system.

During his studies, Marvin worked as a student research assistant on analyzing the potential of power-to-gas technologies for seasonal storage and on conducting life cycle assessments for a novel high performance thermoplastic.

In January 2025, Marvin joined the Energy and Process Systems Engineering Group at ETH Zürich as a PhD student.
