Additional information
Research area
Development, assessment, and optimization of thermodynamic processes involving power, heat, and chemicals.
Dennis Roskosch studied mechanical engineering with a specialization in energy and process engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. He completed his studies with his diploma thesis "Reverse Engineering in Fluid Selection for Heat Pumps" in 2013.
From 2014, Dennis continued his work on fluid selection methods for thermodynamic cycles as a scientific employee and PhD-student in the group of Professor Burak Atakan at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Dennis extended his work on fluid selection methods by the model development of individual components, such as refrigerant compressors. He earned his PhD for his dissertation "Methods of Fluid Selection and their Possible Applications Using the Examples of Heat Pumps and Pumped Heat Electricity Storages" in 2018.
Following his PhD, Dennis stayed a short time at the University of Duisburg-Essen and changed then to the RWTH-Aachen in 2019. He worked there as a postdoc at the Institute of Technical-Thermodynamics.
From 2020 to 2021, Dennis was a postdoctoral researcher and since 2021, he is a senior scientist in Energy and Process Systems Engineering Group at ETH Zürich, managed by Professor André Bardow.
