Additional information

Eleonora Bargiacchi earned her BSc and MSc in Energy Engineering from the University of Pisa (Italy). In her master thesis, carried out at the Hydrogen Department in the Fraunhofer ISE (Germany), she studied and tested the anhydrous production of formaldehyde as a platform for an efficient synthesis of OMEs.

Eleonora earned her Ph.D. at the DESTEC Department from the University of Pisa (Italy), with a Ph.D. Thesis dealing with modeling and Life Cycle Assessment of Carbon Capture Utilisation pathways.

From 2021 to 2022 Eleonora was  Postdoctoral Researcher at the System Analysis Unit in IMDEA Energy Institute (Spain), where she worked on two European Projects (SH2E and eGHOST) related to Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment and eco-design of hydrogen technologies. 

Since 2023, Eleonora has been a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Energy and Process Systems Engineering (EPSE) Group at ETH Zurich, managed by Professor André Bardow.
