Additional information

Carsten Flake studied Mechanical Engineering, majoring in Chemical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. In 2015, he began his Ph.D. studies at the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics at RWTH Aachen University under the supervision of Professor André Bardow. Carsten earned his Ph.D. for his dissertation titled "Automated Measurement, Modeling and Interpretation of Diffusion Coefficients in Aqueous Multicomponent Mixtures".

In 2021, Carsten joined the Energy and Process Systems Engineering Group at ETH Zurich, led by Professor André Bardow. In his role, he contributed to the planning and establishing of experimental laboratories, overseeing their startup.

His research primarily focuses on leveraging Raman spectroscopy to measure thermophysical properties, particularly in chemical engineering applications.
